Find and check care / Fountain Hills

# Where do I begin in Fountain Hills?

Use the same questions for a clinic visit in person and for an online service. Begin by asking who would assess you.

## Ask who would make the care decision

Telehealth means receiving care remotely, through video, phone or an online exchange.

Ask which doctor or other licensed medical worker would examine you. For a visit from Fountain Hills, ask how Arizona allows that person to treat you.

Arizona lets some medical workers licensed in another state register to give remote care here, as of October 3, 2026.

They must register with the Arizona board for their profession. Requirements include a licence without limits on their practice and insurance for claims about their care. The rules also consider past penalties from a licensing board.

That registration does not give permission to see patients in person in Arizona.

Get the full name of the person, their job title and their Arizona licence number. If they use the out-of-state telehealth route, ask for their Arizona registration details instead.

Ask the Arizona board for that job to confirm the licence or registration. If the person says another rule lets them treat you, ask the board how to check that too.

## Use the board for that profession

Arizona’s Medical Board provides a search for medical doctors, whose title is MD.

DO after a person’s name means they are a type of medical doctor. Arizona has a separate board and search for DO doctors.

A nurse practitioner is a nurse whose approved role can include assessing patients and prescribing medicines.

As of October 3, 2026, Arizona nurse practitioners need Nursing Board authority to prescribe, and their prescribing must fit their training.

The Nursing Board links to records for nurses and their extra practice certificates.

Physician assistants, often called PAs, are licensed medical workers. Their Arizona board has a licence search.

Ask that board whether the PA’s licence allows them to assess you and prescribe the medicine being offered.

Match the details you were given to the board record. If the names or profession differ, ask for an explanation before deciding.

## Ask which pharmacy is involved

Get the name of the pharmacy that would make or send the medicine.

As of October 3, 2026, pharmacies outside Arizona need this state’s permit before they can send medicine here. They must also hold a current permit, or equivalent permission, from the state where they are located.

Ask for both permit numbers and the state where the pharmacy is located. Ask each state’s pharmacy board to check them.

The Arizona State Board of Pharmacy issues pharmacy permits. A pharmacist’s licence is a separate record.

For state-by-state links to begin checking an online pharmacy’s licence, use the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guide.

[Use the FDA’s state pharmacy-check guide](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/besaferx-your-source-online-pharmacy-information/locate-state-licensed-online-pharmacy)

If the record is unclear, ask the relevant board how to check it. Do not treat a badge on an advert as the board’s answer.
